What is chamber music?
"More than just instruments.
It is a voice for the voiceless."
In 1944, Dmitri Shostakovich learned of the horrors occurring in the extermination camps.
He heard that SS guards would force Jewish prisoners to dance beside the very graves they had just been forced to dig for themselves.
In response, he wrote his Piano Trio No. 2, using Jewish folk themes to mourn unimaginable atrocities.
He defied censorship to speak the truth through music.
This is the power of chamber music.

Our Mission
The Chamber Project is an interscholastic organization that transforms student musicians into community ambassadors. We bring high-quality chamber music performances to underserved communities throughout Wisconsin, including underfunded schools and senior care facilities.
Through our programs, we provide educational workshops to schools that lack robust music programs, while also delivering uplifting live concerts to nursing homes and senior communities. Our student musicians gain invaluable performance experience while making a meaningful difference in their communities.
